Q & A for Faculty & Staff


Maintaining confidentiality of student records can be achieved by knowing a few basic requirements of the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act.  

Before accessing student records in SMS:

  1. carefully review the material presented in the "About FERPA" links
  2. complete the Q & A tutorial which is designed to give you a basic understanding of the rules governing release of student information at Highline Community College.
