Entry Codes

What is an entry code?

An entry code is a five-digit random number that is needed to enroll for a class when a pre-requisite or permission is required and Highline does not have a record that the student has met the pre-requisite. An entry code may be used only once.

Why do I need an entry code?

For prerequisite classes, entry codes are needed when Highline does not have a record that a student has met a prerequisite. When a student provides documentation that demonstrates the prerequisite has been met, an entry code will be provided.

How do I get an entry code?

Entry codes are only distributed by the class instructor or department coordinator (see Office Hours)

If the instructor is not available, students can email edplanning@highline.edu to request an entry code.  Entry codes will NOT be provided to students coming in person to the Educational Planning Center.

All requests for entry codes made to the Academic Department/Instructor or Educational Planning staff should include
  •  Highline Student ID number
  • the name and number of the class (i.e. Math 091)
  • documentation that the student has met the pre-requisite (i.e. test scores or transcripts)
